A solemn ceremony took place at the Thomas Mann Museum on 28 September whereby the Museums of Neringa were delivered an invaluable donation, a collection of more than 200 books from the library bequeathed by literature professor Klaus Schröter (1931-2017) from Hamburg, containing works written by Thomas Mann and especially rare books on this Nobel Prize winner, including numerous items of reference literature and secondary sources that served as a basis for Thomas Mann writings of an international renown.

Our special thanks for this donation go to literary historian and expert on Thomas Mann, Bernd Michael Kraske, owing to whom this collection of books found a new home in Nida. Yesterday, B. M. Kraske and Rudolf Zahn, a welcome guest and a friend of Nida, took part in the festive occasion on the Hill of Mother-in-Law.
